"It is not because men are evil, but because men are strangers that there is international hatred and suspicion."

With the sixth convention, ten years after  the first one, Pi Kappa Delta had come in to its own. Already it was the largest forensics organization in the United States.  Several hundred delegates attended the convention not including those that they brought with them. The tournament aspect grew considerably in length and diversity. For the first time Extemporary speaking was added as an event and enthusiastically embraced by the competitors. This was as well the first time that the organization planned and promoted extracurricular  activities, in this case winter sports, which created great excitement among the competitors. President Alfred Westfall began a more dubious tradition of not presenting a presidential speech, a pattern that persisted afterward throughout the pre-world war II era.
